Aglianigo, Monte Faliesi, Taurasi, 2005 DOCG, 14%
ReplyDelete-Monte Faliesi’s Aglianico from Taurasi Italy is an excellent wine with a pronounced taste. The aromas pack a powerful punch of wild cherry, spice, smoke, and toast. The palette does not disappoint with very similar tastes that were on the nose. Other luscious tastes include black pepper and plum. If you’re looking for a superb red wine for your heavier winter dishes this tannic full body wine is the right way to go. Paired great with smoked lamb with roasted peppers accompanied with demi glaze sauce.

Greco, Di Feo, Greco di Tufo DOCG, 2005
ReplyDeleteHas a pale golden yellow appearance with a light to medium nose. The aromas are apple, pear, spice, floral, lemon, citrus. On the palette there is notes of spice, floral, lemon. The finish is short and the body is light. This wine is dry with good acidity. This would pair well with a grill tilapia with a light spiced citrus sauce.

ReplyDeleteMontepulciano from Montepuliciano D' Abruzzo is an extremely flavorful red wine. Even though this wine has a lot of flavor it still remains light on the palate, and is a beautiful ruby color. The aromas of this wine include oak, blackcurrant, black cherry, blackberry, strawberry, and a little smoke. This is a dry wine and would pair nicely with a marinated skirt steak, and garlic mashed potatoes.

ReplyDeleteLiveli Negromano features a ruby color with notes of cherries and dark fruits and spice. On the palate this is a balanced wine featuring dark fruits, oak and spice of cinammon and nutmeg.
I would serve this with a warm spice rubbed roasted quail with cranberry risotto.
